Honorary Ceremony at the University of Athens

The University of Athens and the Rector, Professor Meletios-Athanasios Dimopoulos, organized a ceremony for the presentation of an Honorary Volume to Professor Loukas Tsoukalis. The event was held at the Ceremonial Hall of the University of Athens on May 5 and was addressed by the Rector of the University of Athens, the President of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Professor Charalambos Chrysanthakis, Professor George Pagoulatos, Director General of ELIAMEP, Associate Professor Nikos Koutsiaras, and Professor Loukas Tsoukalis, while Herman Van Rompuy, former President of the European Council and Dame Helen Wallace, member of the British Academy, sent a recorded message.

Conferment of the Order of the Rising Sun by the Government of Japan

The Government of Japan has conferred the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon on Professor Loukas Tsoukalis, for his valuable contribution to the promotion of academic exchange and mutual understanding between Greece and Japan, as well as Europe and Japan.

The Conferment Ceremony was held at the Residence of the Ambassador of Japan to Greece, H.E. Mr. Yasunori Nakayama. Among the prominent guests there were high level officials of government and diplomacy. Panagiotis Pikrammenos, the Deputy Prime Minister, gave a toast.
